A number of businesses have contributed to the refurbishment of the Chewton Swimming Pool. They have supplied materials, equipment, labour and as recently as 12 November 2011 when “the big POUR” took place, many businesses and individual tradespeople could be seen on site giving their all.

We are thrilled with the results to date and there is more to come.  Many thanks to all, including –

Victorian Trades Hall Council

The Victorian Trades Hall Council passed this resolution of support:-
“Having heard reports, Executive Council believes that the local community of Chewton should be given a fair opportunity to manage their outside swimming pool, while acknowledging that the financial challenge facing the community in maintaining and improving the Chewton Pool is significant.
Council resolves to oppose the preemptive demolition of the Chewton Pool, and asks State Minister Jennings to consider transfer management of the Pool (crown land) to the Chewton Domain Society, which already manages other land and facilities at Chewton including the post office and the town hall.

That this resolution be forwarded to State Ministers Gavin Jennings, Justin Madden and James Merlino, for their consideration and action – and to Federal Minister Anthony Albanese, for consideration of support under the “Community Infrastructure” program, with a copy provided to Steve Gibbons, Federal Member for Bendigo.”

CFMEU

The CFMEU rep from Ballarat, Jason Bell has been a great support and attended meetings with volunteers and committee members to hear our concerns.
