Partnership with Castlemaine Rotary and Lions Club

Both the Rotary and Lions Clubs of Castlemaine have contributed tremendously to our operation and set-up this first summer season.

You will have seen the huge new 2nd shade-cover, on its steel frame, on the western side of the pool – deservedly adorned with both the Rotary and Lions Club logos.  When this was installed the crews from both clubs also hoed in with machinary and hard yakka to clear overgrown shrubbery around the pool and trim back dangerous tree branches.  They did a fantastic job in not only supplying the funds for the shade-cover but their time and efforts to accomplish this great tidy-up of the surrounds.

A thank-you Dinner Evening was held at the Senior Citizens Hall (due to the wet weather) on Wednesday 29th February and was well attended by well over 100 of their members.  They enjoyed a spitroast of beef and pork and a buffet of salads, followed by a great range of sweets and tea or coffee.  Wine and beer was available and a raffle was held which raised a total of $250 for our coffers.

Thank you to all those who volunteered their culinary skills, time and service on the night.  Representatives from both Rotary and Lions Club were impressed with the thank you dinner and assured further co-operation in our partnership in the future.
