A glorious sunny Saturday provided just the right atmosphere for the season’s opening of Chewton Pool on 29th November. Phil and Debbie Hall took up the challenge and came suitably decked out in festive fruity attire. MC Phil introduced Councillor Tony Cordy who with a genuinely supportive speech, declared the pool open. Tony, seen here with Phil, Jenny Jarman and Jacki Heath, was representing Mayor Christine Henderson who was unable to attend.
Children immediately took to the water and commandeered the various floaties in the shape of dolphins, balls, and sunbeds.
The weather was superbly warm, the water pristinely clear and inviting, and the BBQ and Kiosk well patronised.
Visitors came from far and wide to enjoy the day, with one young mum and baby having travelled up from Melbourne after seeing our website on the net.
It was lovely seeing some little folk discovering the water for the very first time.
Many families attended and enjoyed the relaxing surrounds, and there was a healthy sale of Season Tickets (approximately 50 sold in the first few days).
So, roll on summer – its going to be a beaut season.
Our OPENING DAY party will be on SATURDAY 29th NOVEMBER starting at 12 noon. Yes, it is election day so we’re hoping that after your political vote you’ll VOTE 1 for CHEWTON POOL and come on down to dive in and cool off.
Season Tickets will be available to purchase – prices are listed under the ‘Opening Hours’ tab above.
Once again the quality of the pool water will be top rate and the shady trees and grass creating a relaxing ambience. Do come and join us – its going to be fun!
