A glorious sunny Saturday provided just the right atmosphere for the season’s opening of Chewton Pool on 29th November. Phil and Debbie Hall took up the challenge and came suitably decked out in festive fruity attire. MC Phil introduced Councillor Tony Cordy who with a genuinely supportive speech, declared the pool open. Tony, seen here with Phil, Jenny Jarman and Jacki Heath, was representing Mayor Christine Henderson who was unable to attend.
Children immediately took to the water and commandeered the various floaties in the shape of dolphins, balls, and sunbeds.
The weather was superbly warm, the water pristinely clear and inviting, and the BBQ and Kiosk well patronised.
Visitors came from far and wide to enjoy the day, with one young mum and baby having travelled up from Melbourne after seeing our website on the net.
It was lovely seeing some little folk discovering the water for the very first time.
Many families attended and enjoyed the relaxing surrounds, and there was a healthy sale of Season Tickets (approximately 50 sold in the first few days).
So, roll on summer – its going to be a beaut season.
With the warm weather upon us and the pool opening now is a good time to buy your season ticket for Chewton Pool.
Season Tickets may be purchased from the pool office. The office will have an EFTPOS machine and tickets can be paid EFT by placing the buyer’s surname and the word “season” in the bill identifier. However, if you do this, you will need to advise Helen or email email@example.com of your address details so we can send their season ticket out.
If you want to ask questions or check opening hours – the telephone is now connected at the Chewton Pool Office – its number is 5472 3272. Also, our new post office box number is P.O. Box 24, Chewton.
